This position is for the Cardiac Cath Lab. The role of the Nurse Practitioner-Acute Care (ACNP) is to provide advanced nursing care in the acute-care setting to meet the specialized physiologic and psychologic needs of patients with complex acute, critical, and chronic health conditions. Based on educational preparation and experience, ACNPs practice with a focus on a variety of specialty based populations including neonatal, pediatric, neurosurgery, cardiovascular, and adult. The ACNP practices in any setting in which patient care requirements include complex monitoring and therapies, high-intensity nursing intervention, or continuous nursing vigilance within the range of high-acuity care.
The Acute Care Nurse Practitioner works within the scope specified by the Arizona State Board of Nursing Scope of Practice Guidelines and the ANA Scope of Practice statement for Nurse Practitioners, as well as the hospital's medical staff bylaws.
Licensed as a registered nurse in the state of practice; current nurse practitioner certification in specialty in the state of practice. Masters degree in nursing preferred with a minimum of five years of clinical expertise working with the patient population. Demonstrates proficiency in computer applications and database management. Requires ability to communicate effectively with others. Exhibits a professional demeanor and interpersonal skills.
