Job Description
10 % Shift Differential!
This position is responsible for the receipt of biological specimens (included but not limited to blood, urine,saliva, stool, etc.) into the department, their proper entry into the company's computer system, the preparation of samples for analytical testing, the distribution of these specimens to the proper analytical area, and archiving specimens after testing.
This position reports to Specimen Processing Supervisor, and takes direction from Senior Specimen Preparation Technicians, and Specimen Preparation Coordinators
- Minimum age requirement of 18.
- Must be a high school graduate, or have achieved equivalency through GED exam or other means.
- Good reading, writing and math abilities are required.
- Oral and written communication skills sufficient to understand written and spoken instructions in English.
- Good organization skills are also required.
- Typing/keyboarding skills of minimum 25 wpm, demonstrated by completion of a typing/keyboarding test.
- Must meet all training competency qualifications for Specimen Preparation Technician within six months of hire.
- Six months' experience in a laboratory or key encoding environment is preferred.
- Some college preferred; experience considered in lieu of education.
