The Nurse Practitioner(NP) position is responsible for providing quality health care services in the clinic. The position's emphasis is on patient care in the inpatient and outpatient setting, and staff education. In addition to the primary emphasis on care of the patient the NP's duties will also include, but are not limited to, providing patient assessments through patient exams, patient medical history, interpretation of required diagnostic procedures, and developing/implementing treatment and management plans of the outpatients under the direction of the Medical Director. This position requires working closely with physicians, nurses, and other hospital staff. The NP shall meet or exceed current recognized national standards established by the Joint Commission of Health Care Organizations and other regulatory agencies.
This position is working in the Endocrinology Clinic at North Colorado Medical Center. Service patients with diabetes, thyroid disease and metabolic disorders.
Monday-Friday, providers currently work (4) 10/hr days, this is optional. Provider will work 1-2 days per week in Loveland.
Possesses Nurse Practitioner certification from a program accredited by the state Board of Nursing. A minimum of three years as an RN with experience in inpatient and outpatient. Requires licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in the state of practice. Nurse Practitioners that will be providing patient care services in an independent manner are required to be certified through the National Certification Corporation or equivalent, or otherwise be eligible to obtain a Medicare UPIN number under their own name and credentials. Possess and maintain certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Be board certified by the state board of Certification of Nursing for Nurse Practitioners. NPs providing services must be approved by the credentials committee and be granted hospital privileges.
Prefer experience at least 1 year experience with diabetes and/or metabolic disease, CDE and/or RD helpful.
