Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) work in various health care facilities that include hospitals, nursing homes, dental offices, mental health institutions, private homes, community health clinics, and public health departments.

LPNs have a greater focus on practical aspects of nursing. While licensing and job descriptions vary by state, and sometimes by facility, Licensed Practical Nurses typically perform tasks that include taking vital signs, treating bed sores, preparing and delivering shots, delivering medication, changing IVs, and other practical nursing tasks.
